Cooney Homes grew as a family company with sons Bill and John working side by side and learning from their Father. Cooney Homes got its start in 1964 when William P. Cooney Sr. (Bill), started working in the home building industry as a manager for Wickes Lumber Company. Bill Cooney married Kathy Clyde and started a family. In 1978 Bill Cooney built an English Tudor home for his young family. Bill enjoyed building so much he started building homes for sale and Cooney Homes was born!

Bill Cooney raised his family in the home building industry and taught his children that building Homes is more than a business; it is a great privilege and responsibility. The kids started out cleaning job-sites and worked their way into supervision roles after many years of work and getting their education. Cooney Homes grew as a family company with son John Cooney working side-by-side and learning from his father. Bill Cooney believed that a home is much more than just a shelter; a home is where a family makes memories. As memories last more than a lifetime, Bill Cooney built homes that families would enjoy making memories in for upcoming generations to share.

Much has changed at Cooney Homes since Bill Cooney built his family's first home. Bill passed away in 2006. Brothers Bill and John continue their Father’s legacy……
